We’ve been at 850 Mount Road for a good while now. Anna Salai is always a mess with the construction and the buses, but it’s home for us. South India Surgical is basically just a group of people who know their way around medical tools and supplies. It’s not a glamorous job, but hospitals and clinics need what we have, so we keep the shelves stocked and the orders moving. The building is a bit older but it stays cool enough when the AC is running right. People come in and out all day looking for specific items for their practices. We don't have a big marketing team or anything; we just answer the phones and pack the boxes. Most of the staff has been here for years, so we kind of know where everything is even if the filing system looks a bit chaotic to an outsider. It’s a lot of paperwork and checking serial numbers. Chennai heat doesn't help much, especially when the delivery trucks are blocked by the traffic outside. We just try to get the orders out on time. There’s a small place around the corner where we usually get lunch. It’s a busy life on Mount Road, to be honest. You get used to the noise of the horns after a while. We aren't doing anything fancy, just moving surgical supplies from one place to another and making sure the numbers match up.
