S.I.V.E.T College

You can find S.I.V.E.T College right on Velachery Main Road in Gowrivakkam, which is part of the Tambaram area in Chennai. If you’ve ever driven down that road, you know how busy it gets with all the buses and cars. Our campus has been a fixture here for quite some time. We aren’t one of those new, glass-walled colleges. We have older buildings that have seen many generations of students pass through. It feels very much like a traditional Chennai college. Most of our students come from the southern suburbs like Tambaram and Medavakkam. We offer various degrees, and the classrooms are usually full. The staff room is always a bit cluttered with books and tea cups. We don’t have a big marketing department writing fancy stories about us. We just run the college the best we can. During the rainy season, the main road can get flooded, which sometimes makes things difficult, but we manage. Students spend their time between the library and the common areas. It’s a very practical environment. We don't use a lot of corporate language. We are just here to provide the courses and help the students get their degrees. It’s a busy, loud, and honest place where people are trying to build a future for themselves. It’s just how things are here in Gowrivakkam, and we take pride in the fact that we’ve stayed open all these years.
