Shoot & Cuts

Our little place, Shoot & Cuts, is located at No 6/52 on Subbarayan 4th Street. It’s in the Perambur Barracks area of Chennai, right opposite Jaina Hospital. We do a lot of video work and editing here. It’s not a massive studio with a bunch of interns, just a couple of us who really know our way around a camera and an editing desk. Most of our days are spent in front of screens, trying to get the cuts just right. It can be quite tedious, but we enjoy the process. The neighborhood is pretty lively, and having the hospital right there means it’s a landmark everyone knows. We don't really do much in the way of promotion. People usually find us because someone else told them we did a good job on their video. We take on all kinds of projects, from small personal clips to bigger stuff for local businesses. The office is usually cluttered with hard drives and cables, which is pretty standard for what we do. We try to keep things relaxed when clients come in to see their footage. There's no pressure and no fancy jargon. We just talk about what looks good and what doesn't. Sometimes we work late when a deadline is coming up, but that’s just the nature of the work. We’ve been here for a while and we plan on staying. It’s a solid spot and we like the local vibe of Perambur.
