Shanthi Plastic Industries

Shanthi Plastic Industries is located at No 23 on Ellis Road, right in the Mount Road area. We are tucked away behind Devi Theatre, which makes it easy to explain to people where we are. Our workshop is a bit of an old-fashioned place with machines that have been around for quite a few years. We handle various kinds of plastic work and there is always something being molded or trimmed in the back. It gets pretty noisy when everything is running at once, so we usually have to shout to hear each other. Being so close to the theatre means we get to see the crowds coming and going, especially when a new movie opens. I’ve been at this address for a long time and I’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit around us. We don't have any fancy marketing or a big sign out front, just the work we do for our customers. People come to us when they need something specific made from plastic and we do our best to figure out how to make it happen. Sometimes the molds are tricky and it takes a few tries to get it right. It is a greasy, busy environment but we wouldn't have it any other way. We just show up, do the work, and close the shutters when the sun goes down. It's a steady way to make a living and keeps us on our toes.
