Service Engineer

We are located at number 10 on Church Road in Perungudi. Selvam is the one who usually handles the customers, while the rest of us stay in the back with the tools. This part of Chennai, the 96 area, is always humming with activity. Our shop is just a small room filled with shelves of old parts and tools we’ve collected over the years. It’s not the cleanest place you’ll ever visit, but it’s where we do our work as service engineers. We don't have a marketing person or anyone to write fancy descriptions of what we do. We just fix things. If someone brings in a broken motor or a piece of electronics, we take a look. Some days are slow and we just sit around cleaning the tools, and other days we’re working late into the night. We don't have a set routine other than showing up in the morning and seeing what needs doing. The rain can be a real pain here, and sometimes the street floods a bit, but we just keep the doors shut and keep working. We don't have any big corporate goals. We just want to do right by the people who trust us with their equipment. It’s a simple life, really. We talk about the local news, drink some coffee, and try to make sense of the machines on our benches. It’s what we’ve always done and it works for us.
