Selvalakshami Hardware

Selvalakshami Hardware is right here on Poonamallee High Road. We are at old number 491-A, though most folks look for new number 13 now. It gets pretty loud outside with all the traffic coming past the police station. We open up early and start moving stuff around. Mostly it's just local people and some contractors who need a few things for their jobs. The shop has been in this spot for a good while. You might miss the sign if you're driving too fast toward the station. Inside it's a bit cramped because we try to keep a lot of stock on the shelves. There is dust on some of the top racks but we know where everything is kept. If someone asks for a specific bolt or a hammer, we usually find it in a minute or two. Sometimes the rain makes it a bit messy near the entrance. We just sit here and handle the orders as they come in. It’s a simple setup really. No fancy displays or anything like that. Just shelves and the counter. The tea shop nearby is where we usually get our afternoon break. It's just how a hardware place in this part of town works. People come in, ask for what they need, and we get it for them. Mostly we just walk around and see what's running low so we can get more in for the next day. It's a long day sometimes but we stay busy enough.
