Sasel

Sasel is located over in Neyveli, which is part of the Cuddalore district. If you’ve been to this part of Tamil Nadu, you know it’s dominated by the big mines and power plants. We are a small part of that industrial landscape. Our office isn’t anything special to look at. It’s a functional space where we handle our daily business. We’ve got a lot of dust from the nearby industrial activity, so we’re always cleaning the windows. The staff here are all locals. We know the roads and the people around here. We don’t have a fancy lobby or a coffee machine that makes lattes. Usually, it’s just someone bringing in a flask of tea from home. The work we do is steady. It involves a lot of coordination and making sure things are where they need to be. It can get very hot in the afternoons, and the air conditioning is a bit moody, but we make do. We aren’t interested in being the biggest company around. We just want to do our part and keep things running. You won’t find any shiny brochures here. Most of our records are in old-fashioned ledgers or simple spreadsheets. It’s a very grounded way of working. We see the same faces every day and we like it that way. It’s a quiet life in Neyveli, and our office reflects that.
