Sampath Institute

Our place is located on 27th Street in Nanganallur, not too far from the Register Office. If you know the area, it's pretty easy to find. For quite a while now, we've been running Sampath Institute. It started out small and we’ve just kept at it since then. Dealing mostly with students from the neighborhood, we provide guidance with their studies. Different subjects are handled depending on who needs help. Even though the rooms aren't huge, they do the job for small groups. We find that students talk more when there aren't too many people around. It’s a quiet enough street, although parking can sometimes be a bit of a headache if many parents arrive at once. After morning classes, we usually have another session in the late afternoon. Keeping up with all the different school syllabus changes is a lot of work, but we manage. Instead of trying to be the biggest school in Chennai, we just want to be a reliable place for the kids here. Seeing old students stop by just to say hello is always nice. Most of our time is spent looking at textbooks and marking papers. It’s a simple life but it feels useful. Because we don't have a big marketing team, we just rely on our sign out front and people talking to their neighbors. This way of doing things has worked for years and we don’t see it changing soon. We are happy right where we are.
