Our kitchen is tucked away in Mylapore at No 20/45, Alamelumangapuram. We are quite close to the Saibaba Temple, which is a very busy spot on Thursdays. People often use the temple as a landmark to find us. We do both the kitchen work and the catering service from here. It gets very hectic when we have a big order for a function or a local event. The smell of spices and cooking usually fills the whole street. We started out small, just helping out with food for neighbors, and it slowly turned into what it is today. We don't have a big office or a sales team. It is mostly just family and a few workers who know how to handle the big pots and pans. Mylapore is an old part of the city with narrow streets, so getting supplies in can be a bit of a challenge sometimes. We have to time the deliveries right so the trucks don't block the road. We don't spend money on fancy advertisements. Most people just hear about us through word of mouth or see us working near the temple. It’s a lot of early mornings and late nights, especially during the wedding season. We just focus on getting the cooking done and making sure the food is delivered on time. It’s a simple, busy life here in Alamelumangapuram.
