Sai Signs

You can find Sai Signs at 2/45 in Santhosh Nagar, Perungudi. We have been here for a few years now, working out of this small space. Perungudi has changed a lot, but our little corner remains pretty much the same. We make signs for all sorts of people, from big offices to the small tea stall down the road. The room is usually filled with the smell of adhesive and paint. We have a few old tables where we lay out the letters and backgrounds. It’s not a sterile environment. There are coffee stains on the desks and old posters on the walls. We don't have a big team, just a couple of us who have been doing this since we were younger. We take our time with the work because we want it to look right when it’s hung up. Sometimes we have to go out and install the signs ourselves, which means carrying heavy ladders around Santhosh Nagar. We don't have a fancy delivery van. We just use what we have available. Most of our customers are local people who know us from the neighborhood. We don't really do much advertising ourselves. We figure if the work is okay, people will tell their friends. It’s a quiet way to make a living, and we are happy with how things are going. We just keep making signs.
