S Narayanan Co is located at New 46/2 on Venkatachala Mudali Street. This is one of those old, narrow streets where everything feels a bit tight and busy all the time. Our building has been here for a long time, and it looks its age, but it works for what we do. We mostly deal with general supplies and hardware items that people in this part of the city need. The shelves are tall and go all the way to the ceiling, so we often have to use a ladder to find what a customer is asking for. It’s a bit of a maze inside with boxes stacked in the corners. We know our regulars by name, and many of them have been coming to us for years. The street outside is always full of people, carts, and delivery bikes, so it’s never quiet. We don't use any fancy computer systems to track every little thing; we mostly rely on what we know is in the back. It’s a traditional way of running a shop, and it has served us well so far. There’s no air conditioning, just a couple of old fans humming away while we talk to the people who walk in. We just focus on keeping the stock full and helping out whoever stops by. It’s a simple business but it keeps us on our feet every day through the heat.
