Our shop is tucked away on Godown Street, specifically at Shop Number 11 on the ground floor. If you know this area, you know how crowded it gets with all the carts and people moving bundles of cloth or hardware. We have been in this spot for a good number of years now. It is a small space, but we pack it full with whatever stock we have for the week. The walls are mostly covered with shelves from floor to ceiling. Usually, one of us is sitting at the front desk while someone else is in the back looking for a specific order. It gets quite loud in the afternoons when the neighboring shops are all busy loading their goods. We don't have much room for a fancy display, so everything is just stacked neatly where we can find it. Usually, customers just walk in from the street because they saw our sign outside. We keep a ledger for most things because it's easier than relying on the computer all the time. Sometimes the lights flicker when the street load is too high, but we just keep working. It is a bit of a maze getting here if you are new to the neighborhood. We mostly deal with regular people who have been coming to us for a long time. The street is always muddy when it rains, so we have to keep the doorstep clean. We try to keep the coffee pot going for when the regulars stop by to chat.
