You can find us at New No 144, which used to be Old No 299, on Thambu Chetty Street in Parrys. We have been here for decades, and we even have our own Post Box, No 1558, because the mail system in this part of the city can be a bit of a mess. Parrys is a very crowded place, full of history and old buildings, and Thambu Chetty Street is always buzzing with people and carts. Our office is tucked away in one of these old structures. It’s got high ceilings and thick walls that keep it a bit cooler than the street outside, though we still feel the Chennai heat. We handle a lot of different things here, mostly involving trade and supplies that have been our bread and butter for a long time. The paperwork piles up on the desks, and we still use some old filing cabinets that have been with us since the beginning. It’s not a modern glass office; it’s a place where you can smell the old paper and the city dust. We know the other shopkeepers on the street and we often talk about how much the area has changed over the years. Even with all the new buildings going up, this corner of Parrys feels like home to us. We just keep doing what we do, day after day, through the heat and the traffic. It is a busy life but it is what we know.
