Roy Academy

Down in Ambatturai, things move at a bit of a slower pace compared to the big city. Roy Academy is just a small place we set up to help out the students in this area. It’s nothing like those big institutes with glass walls and air conditioning in every room. We have a few wooden benches and a chalkboard that’s seen better days. The building itself is quite old, and the roof drips a little bit when the monsoon rains are really heavy. We just move the desks away from the wet spots and keep going. Ambatturai is a quiet neighborhood, so the students can focus without too much noise from the street. We have a shelf full of old books that anyone can borrow if they want to read something extra. In the evenings, the light from the streetlamp outside shines into the front room. We don't have a big staff, just a couple of us who know the subjects well. Usually, we sit outside on the steps for a few minutes before the first class starts. It’s a modest setup, but it serves the purpose for the people living around here. We don't spend money on advertising; people just hear about us from their neighbors or friends. It’s a simple life and a simple way of teaching in a small town.
