Rabs Engineering Works

Rabs Engineering Works is located at 121 Arcot Road in Porur. It’s a busy stretch of road, so there is always noise from the traffic outside. We do various engineering and fabrication jobs in our workshop. It’s a big open space with a lot of heavy machinery. We spend our days welding, cutting, and fixing things. The heat from the torches can make it pretty warm in here, especially during the summer months. We started this place because we liked working with our hands. It’s not a corporate office; it’s a place where things actually get built. We have a lot of scrap metal piled up in the corner that we use for smaller projects. Most of our customers are locals who need something specific made or a piece of equipment repaired. We don't have a marketing department or anything. We just do the work and word gets around. Sometimes we’re working late into the evening to finish a job on time. We’ve got a couple of fans going to keep the air moving, but it’s still a tough environment. We’ve been on Arcot Road for years and we’ve seen the area grow up around us. It’s just us, our tools, and the work that needs doing. It’s a simple life, but it’s what we know best. We keep the doors open even when the dust from the road gets inside because we need the light. It helps us see what we are doing in the back of the shop.
