Project Officer

Working as a Project Officer here in Adyar is quite an experience. We are based in Devi Flats, specifically 62 5 on the 1St Main Road in Thamodarapuram. Chennai gets incredibly hot, especially in the afternoons, so our small office is usually buzzing with the sound of the AC trying to keep up. It is a residential area mostly, so it feels very local and grounded. We are on the first floor and the stairs are a bit narrow. Inside, it is mostly just desks piled with folders and a few maps on the wall. We spend our time checking on different initiatives and making sure the paperwork is in order. It is a lot of following up with people and asking for reports. Sometimes we have to go out to different parts of the city, but this is where we do all the planning. The neighborhood has some great places for lunch, which is a plus. We are not a big corporation with hundreds of employees. It is just a handful of us trying to keep things moving. We do not have a mission statement on the wall or anything like that. We just come in, do what needs to be done, and go home. The flat is a bit old but it has a good vibe and we get our work finished without much fuss.
