We are tucked away on Ayyappan Street in Perungudi. If you are looking for Flat Number 9, that is us. We share space or are associated with Sanmar Specialty Chemicals, so there is often a lot of talk about data and research results going on. It is a residential-style building, which makes it feel a bit more relaxed than a huge corporate tower. We have some desks set up in what used to be a living room. The view out the window isn't much, just the street and some other buildings. We spend a lot of time on our computers looking at reports. Perungudi has changed a lot over the years with all the tech companies moving in, but our little corner on Ayyappan Street stays fairly quiet. Sometimes we have meetings around the dining table. It works for us because we don't need a lot of flash. There are usually stacks of papers nearby and someone is always looking for a pen that actually works. We take turns bringing in snacks for the afternoon. It gets a bit warm in the summer, even with the windows open. We are just a group of people trying to make sense of the research we have in front of us. It’s not glamorous, but it’s the work we do. Most of us have been here long enough that we know exactly which floorboard creaks when you walk over it. It is just a normal daily grind for us here.
