We are based in Nanganallur, Chennai. The office is actually in a flat, Number G in the Gokulam Apartments on Sarvamangala Nagar. It’s right on Modern School Road, so we hear the school kids sometimes during the day. Being in an apartment makes it feel a bit more like home than a cold office building. We do career consulting, which mostly means we talk to a lot of people looking for jobs and look through piles of resumes. The living room area is where we sit and talk. We have some filing cabinets and a few desks shoved in there. Chennai heat is no joke, so we usually have the fans going full blast. It’s a local operation, nothing too big or flashy. We know the neighbors and the security guard at the gate. Most days are spent making calls and trying to match people with what they’re looking for. It gets a bit hectic when a lot of people show up at once, but we manage. There isn't a big sign outside, just a small one usually. We’ve been here in this flat for some time now. It’s practical for us because it’s easy to get to and it’s a familiar area. We don't use any of those big corporate slogans. We just sit down with whoever walks in and try to be useful with what we know about the local job market. It’s a simple living-room-turned-office where we spend our afternoons.
