Plastech Engineers is situated at No. 1, Sidco Industrial Estate in Guindy. Being at the very first plot in the estate makes it easy to find, though the traffic in Chennai can make it a real journey to get here most mornings. Guindy is an old industrial heart, and you can feel that history in the buildings and the way things run around here. We work with plastics and engineering components, and our workshop is a reflection of that. It’s full of molds, raw materials, and the steady hum of production that never seems to stop. We don’t spend much on decorating or making the place look like a showroom. The focus is always on the machines and the output. Most of the guys here have grease under their fingernails and a lot of practical knowledge that you don’t get from a book. We handle the technical side of things without making a big deal out of it. It’s a noisy environment, and it gets incredibly hot during the summer months, but that’s the reality of a SIDCO unit. We take our lunch breaks together and talk about the local news or the latest cricket scores. It’s a very grounded atmosphere. We don’t have a sales team or a marketing department. We just have our tools and our experience. People come to us because they know where we are and what we can do with a piece of plastic. We just get it done.
