Our place is New No. 7 on Kamaraj Nagar 8th Street. Perambur is a busy part of town and this street is no exception. We deal with a lot of engineering service requests that come in through the door. Usually, it is someone with a part that needs repairing or a piece of equipment that isn't running right. The workshop is packed with tools, and sometimes it feels like we are tripping over things, but there is a system to it all. We have a few workbenches that have seen a lot of use over the years. The light isn't always great in the back of the shop, but we have some portable lamps for when we need to see the fine details of a repair. Most of us have been doing this for a long time, so we don't need much instruction anymore. We just show up, see what is on the list, and start working. The neighborhood is mostly residential around our street, so we try not to make too much noise too early in the morning. Sometimes a customer will stay and chat for a while while we finish their job. It’s a friendly enough atmosphere, even if the work is dirty and the floor is covered in metal shavings. We just focus on getting things fixed so they work like they are supposed to. It is just what we do here in Perambur.
