This office is located at 42 Lazarus Church Road in Mandavelipakkam. Chennai can be very hot, but being here in this part of the city feels a bit different because of the old trees and the proximity to the coast. We are right there in the middle of a neighborhood that has been around for a long time. The building itself is quite plain and we have kept the interior very simple. There are no fancy decorations or expensive furniture, just what we need to stay productive. We do our consulting work from this spot, usually starting quite early to beat the worst of the midday heat. You can hear the sounds of the street throughout the day, which keeps us feeling connected to what’s happening outside. Mandavelipakkam is a good place to be based because it is central enough but still has its own quiet corners. Sometimes we walk down the road to get coffee from the small stalls nearby. It helps to clear the head when the work piles up. We have a few computers and some shelves filled with binders. It is the kind of place where you can actually focus without being distracted by a corporate environment. We like the way the light comes into the room in the morning, making it feel like a decent place to spend the day. There is usually a bit of a breeze from the sea if you stand outside.
