Kugan Engineering Works

Kugan Engineering Works is located at No. 6 Sara Nagar Main Road in the Old Pallavaram area, right by Faizabad Road in Chinhat. It is a plain shop where we spend our days working with metal and machines. The place is usually covered in a bit of oil and dust, but that’s just the nature of what we do here. We have a few lathes and some welding gear that have been with us for a long time. It gets quite loud once the sun comes up and we start the grinders. You can hear the noise from the street. We don’t have a fancy office or a place for people to sit and wait. It’s just the workshop floor and a small desk where we keep the ledgers. The gate at the front has a bit of a squeak that we never seem to get around to fixing. Most of our guys have been living in the neighborhood for years. We usually take a break around eleven for some tea from the stall nearby. We don’t do much advertising because we’re busy enough with the folks who walk in. The traffic on Faizabad Road can be a real headache when we are trying to move finished parts out, but we make it work. It’s a simple, hardworking environment. We focus on getting the pieces right and making sure the machines are kept in decent shape for the next day's tasks. It’s not a polished business, just a local engineering shop.
