Northstar Media Pvt Ltd is located on the third floor of the Barnaville Apartments at 27 Barnaby Road in Kilpauk. It is an older building with a lot of character, even if the lift is a bit slow on some days. Being up on the third floor gives us a decent view of the street, which is a nice distraction from our computer screens. We do media work here, but most days it just feels like a lot of phone calls and sorting through papers. Our team is small and we have called this Kilpauk spot home for a long time. The office is cluttered with files and old notebooks we probably should have discarded years ago. It definitely isn't a polished corporate environment. Mismatched mugs fill the kitchen and the air conditioner makes a distinct rattling sound. This space suits us just fine regardless. Barnaby Road is a good, quiet area for a city like Chennai. We don’t use marketing language or try to pretend we are bigger than we are. We are just a local media business doing our daily tasks. Most of our neighbors are just regular families living in the other apartments. We fit into the building quite well. It’s a practical and homey place where we work without much drama. That is just the way we like to do things. We focus on the work and let the rest take care of itself.
