New College, Royapettah

New College has been a fixture in Royapettah, Chennai, for a long time. It is a large campus with several old buildings that have a lot of history. There are many trees scattered around the grounds, which provide some much-needed shade during the hot Chennai summers. You will see students everywhere, sitting under the trees or rushing to their next lecture. The atmosphere is always busy and full of energy. We have various departments for different subjects, and the labs are filled with old equipment that still works fine. The canteen is a popular spot and stays crowded from morning until late afternoon. You can hear the hum of the city traffic from Royapettah High Road just outside our walls. We have a big library which is probably the quietest place on the whole campus. It is usually full during the exam months. The staff rooms are often cluttered with stacks of paper and books. It is not a very modern or polished place, but it has a character that comes from years of students passing through its gates. The security guards at the main entrance know many of the students by sight. We just follow the academic calendar and keep the classes running as they should. It takes a lot of effort to manage such a big institution, but the staff and the workers just keep things moving day by day without making a big fuss about it.
