N. Shobha Kant & Co.

Our place is at 59 Govindappa Naicken Street, which is one of those lanes where you really have to watch your step because of the crowds. It’s an old part of the city and the energy is quite something. N. Shobha Kant & Co. has been operating from this spot for a long time. The building shows its age, but it works for what we do. We mostly deal with trading and the paperwork that comes with it. Inside, it’s mostly shelves filled with ledgers and files, and there’s usually a bit of a breeze if the door is open. We don't have any fancy air conditioning or modern glass partitions. It’s just a traditional office where business gets done over a lot of phone calls and ledger entries. Dealing with people in the market is the main part of the day. You see the same faces every morning when the shutters go up. Sometimes it’s chaotic with the deliveries coming through the narrow street, but we’ve grown used to the rhythm of it. We aren't trying to be some big corporation. We’re just a local firm that’s been part of the street’s history for a while. Everyone knows where number 59 is. It’s a simple setup, and we prefer it that way. We keep things moving, handle the accounts, and make sure the daily tasks are finished before the sun goes down and the street finally gets a bit quieter.
