M/S Beacon Weir Ltd, Chennai

Our office for M/S Beacon Weir Ltd is located in Royapettah, Chennai. We are tucked away at 2/34 R.O.B 5th Street in Halls Garden. It’s an old part of the city with a lot of character and narrow lanes. We work with engineering equipment, mostly things like pumps and industrial parts. The salt air from the coast sometimes makes things rust if we aren't careful, so we keep everything well-oiled and covered. The office is a bit cramped because we have a lot of manuals and spare parts laying around on the floor. It’s not a shiny corporate building. It’s a place where we actually get work done. We spend a lot of time talking to factory managers and shipping agents on the phone. Royapettah is a tight neighborhood, so most of the neighbors know us. We’ve been here long enough that the postman knows exactly where to go. We don't go in for big marketing stunts or fancy brochures. If someone needs a pump fixed or a specific part replaced, they call us. We keep a handwritten ledger of all the stuff we do. It’s a bit old-fashioned but it works for us. Chennai is very hot, so we have a couple of noisy air conditioners that we keep running all day. It’s just us, doing our engineering work day in and day out.
