Our place is called Divine Villa, which sounds a bit more grand than it actually is. It’s F 2 at No 61 on 10th Avenue in Ashok Nagar. Being in Chennai, it’s almost always humid. We have several fans going at Motorola India Pvt Ltd just to keep the air moving throughout the day. The office is part of a larger building in a residential-feeling area. We can hear the kids playing in the street sometimes when the windows are open. It’s Chennai 83, so we are right in the thick of things. The office space is split up into smaller rooms, which makes it feel a bit like a house rather than a corporate office. We have a small kitchen area where we keep our tiffins and make some tea. The 10th Avenue traffic is pretty loud during rush hour. We’ve got some old metal filing cabinets that make a lot of noise when you open them. Most of us have been working here together for a long time. It’s a comfortable enough spot, even if the walls are a bit stained. We don't have a fancy lobby or a receptionist. If someone knocks, one of us just gets up to see who it is. It’s a very practical way to run things. We usually leave the windows open to get a breeze, but then the dust gets in. It's just a normal day.
