Mookambika Driving School

We take people out in our cars and teach them how to stay calm while buses and autos are zooming past them from every direction. The office is a small place where we keep the registers and the theory books. People stop by to sign up or to ask about the next available slot for their test. We have a few instructors who have been doing this for years, so they have seen every kind of mistake a new driver can make. We don't use any fancy simulators; we just put you in the car and get you out on the road because that is the only way to really learn how to drive in Chennai. We spend a lot of time waiting at the RTO office for driving tests, which is just part of the job. Most of our students are locals from around Adyar or students from the nearby colleges. It is a bit of a loud and busy job, but it is good to see someone finally get the hang of the gears and gain some confidence. We keep the cars running and the lessons going from early morning until the sun goes down.
