Jeeva Tower is right on the Rajiv Gandhi Salai, which most people just call OMR. It’s a busy corridor with lots of IT companies and tech parks, but Molecules Lab is focused on the chemical and pharmaceutical side. Being in a tower means we have to deal with the security desk and the elevators every day. Our space is filled with lab benches, glassware, and computers. It smells a bit like chemicals sometimes, which you get used to after a week or two. We spend most of our time looking into microscopes or checking data on the screens. It’s not the kind of place where things happen quickly. Research takes time and a lot of patience from everyone involved. The view from the windows is mostly just other tall buildings and the constant stream of cars on the road below. We have a small break room where the coffee machine is usually broken, so we go out for tea. It’s a professional environment but we keep it casual among ourselves. Most of us commute from quite far away because the rent around here is high. We handle various testing projects for different firms in the area. It’s a lot of meticulous recording and documenting. We don't do much advertising; our work usually comes from long-standing contacts in the industry. It’s just a group of people doing their best to get the science right.
