Microtech Engineering

Our workshop is located at 34/35 Kamarajar Street, which is part of the Das Industrial Estate in Ambattur. If you know Ambattur, you know it is the heart of the industrial side of the city. There is always the sound of machines running and trucks moving in and out of the estate. Operating out of these two units has been our way of life for a while now. Precision work and general engineering tasks are what we handle daily. The floor is usually covered in metal shavings and there is that smell of cutting oil everywhere, which is just how an engineering shop should be. A few lathes and milling machines are run by a small group of workers who really know their way around them. It is not a clean, white-carpet office by any means. It’s a place for hard work. Days are spent looking at drawings and making sure the parts we make are correct. Staying late is common when a big job comes in. We usually have tea together in the afternoon while the machines are cooling down. It is a tight-knit group here. Most of the guys have been working on this street for their whole careers. There isn't a fancy reception desk; you just walk into the shop and find someone. We just focus on the metal and the machines to get things done.
