Micron Engineers

We operate out of the ground floor of Gangai Apartment, which is over in Swamyappa Nagar in Perambalur. It’s a bit of a tight space sometimes, especially when we have a lot of parts lying around, but it works for what we do. Being in a residential building means we try not to make too much noise too early in the morning, but engineering work usually involves some clanking. We’ve been at 103 for a while now. Most of our day is spent looking at drawings or messing with mechanical bits that need fixing or making. We are just regular engineers who like to build things and solve problems with our hands. The area around here is pretty quiet, which helps when you need to concentrate on a tricky piece of machinery. We don't have a big corporate office or anything, just the workshop floor and a desk for the bills. It gets quite warm in Tamil Nadu during the summer, so the fans are always going at full speed. People from around the district come to us when they have something that isn't working right. We don't use big words to describe the work; we just see what’s broken and try to make it work again. It’s a simple life, honestly. We start early, finish when the job is done, and keep the tools organized as much as possible. There’s always grease on someone’s hands here, but that’s just how it goes.
