Marine Cranes

Our office is right at number 220 on N.S.C. Bose Road, directly across from the Law College. It’s a landmark everyone knows, so we don’t have to give directions too often. Marine Cranes is what we do, and we’ve been at this location for more years than I care to count. The street outside is always noisy with students and traffic, but inside it’s mostly just us looking over schedules and maintenance logs for the cranes. It isn't a glamorous job. You get grease on your hands and you spend a lot of time on the phone. We aren't some big corporate office with a lobby and a receptionist. Usually, you’ll just find one of us sitting at the back desk with a cup of tea. We focus on the cranes because that is what we know. The machinery is heavy and needs a lot of looking after, so that takes up most of our day. Being near the college means there is always something happening outside our window. Sometimes the noise makes it hard to hear on the phone, but you get used to it. We keep things pretty straightforward here. If someone needs a crane, they come in, we talk about the logistics, and we figure out a plan. There’s no fancy talk or complicated paperwork if we can help it. We just want to get the equipment where it needs to go and make sure the job gets done right without any fuss.
