Martin Crane

Our place, Martin Crane, is over at 95, Big Street in Madhavaram. It’s a pretty straightforward setup we have here. Big Street can get a bit congested, but we have enough space for what we do. We’ve been operating out of Madhavaram for a while now. Lifting things is what we know, and the yard is always full of heavy steel and chains. It’s noisy work, especially when the engines are running. We don’t have a fancy office with a secretary or anything like that. Usually, you’ll find us out by the cranes, checking the cables or greasing the joints. The sun hits the yard pretty hard in the afternoon, so we drink a lot of tea and try to stay in the shade when we can. We’ve seen Madhavaram change quite a bit over the years, but Big Street stays mostly the same. If you come by 95, Big Street, you’ll see the equipment parked up. It’s not a glamorous job, and we usually go home with grease on our hands and dirt on our boots. We don't put on airs here. Martin Crane is just a local business doing what needs to be done. We don't have a website or anything like that, people just know where we are. If you’re in the neighborhood and looking for us, just look for the tall booms against the sky. We're usually around from sunrise until things get quiet in the evening.
