Manpower

In Chennai, our Manpower office is located at 11 20 Venkateswara Nagar in Velacherry. If you know the area, you know it can get pretty crowded. We are right in the middle of it. The office is basic. We have a few fans and some desks. The heat in Chennai is something we just deal with every day. We spend a lot of time talking to people who need jobs in the nearby shops or warehouses. We don't do anything too fancy. It’s mostly just keeping track of who is available and who needs workers. We use a lot of paper logs. Sometimes the phone lines act up, so we use our mobiles. We don't have a big polished image. We are just local folks working in Velacherry. People walk in from the street and ask for work. We try to help them if we can. It’s a lot of repetitive work, checking names and dates. We don't have any big corporate goals or anything like that. We just want to make sure the people who come to us get a fair chance at a job. Sometimes we stay late when a big order comes in. We don't mind. It’s just how the business goes. We’ve been at this spot for a while now and the neighbors know us. We just keep our heads down and do the paperwork.
