Makers Pharma

Our shop is over in Egmore, right on Panhian Road. If you know where the museum is, we’re basically right across from there on Nainiappa Naicken Street. It’s an old part of town and it stays crowded from morning until night. We spend most of our time organizing boxes and checking dates on the medicine. It’s a lot of standing around and talking to people who come in with prescriptions. Sometimes they’re looking for things we don’t have, so we have to order them from the distributors. The street outside is always noisy with horns and people walking by. We’ve been at this spot for a good bit of time now. The shelves are packed tight because there are so many different types of tablets and syrups people need. It’s not a big fancy place, just a regular pharmacy where we try to keep things organized. Usually, we're busy in the evenings when people are heading home from work. We get to know the regulars who come in every month for their usual stuff. We just focus on getting the right items to the people who need them. It's a lot of paperwork too, which nobody really likes but it has to be done. We stay open pretty late most days because you never know when someone might need something. That’s how life goes here at Makers Pharma in Egmore. We just keep the lights on and help whoever walks in during the day.
