Mailam Murugan Driving School

Mailam Murugan Driving School is located on the first floor at No 90, J. N. Road. If you are looking for us, we are right across from the Janaki Rajagopal Mahal in Anakaputhur. Chennai traffic is famous for being difficult, and J. N. Road is no exception. We start our days early before the sun gets too hot, taking students out for their first rounds. The office is small and filled with files and some old posters about road signs. It’s not the kind of place with air conditioning running all day, so we usually have the windows open to catch whatever breeze we can. Teaching someone to drive in Chennai requires a lot of calm. You have to watch out for the bikes zooming past and the buses that don't like to stop. We’ve seen it all over the years. We aren't fancy and we don't have a big fleet of luxury cars. We use basic vehicles because that's what most people will be driving anyway. It’s a lot of sitting and waiting, watching footwork and making sure the mirrors are used correctly. We’ve helped hundreds of people from around Anakaputhur get their licenses. It’s good work because you’re giving someone a skill they’ll use forever. We just keep things simple, show up on time, and try to make sure our students don’t panic when a bus gets a bit too close.
