Mahalakshmi Caterers

Our kitchen is tucked away at No 19 on Managappan Street in Sowcarpet. If you know this part of town, you know how narrow and crowded the streets can be, especially when we are trying to load the vans with big silver pots. We have been doing catering for a long time now. It started as a small family thing and just grew because people in the neighborhood needed food for their functions. We don't have a big storefront or anything, just the space where we do all the prep and cooking. Most of the time, the air smells like spices and fried onions. We handle all sorts of events, from small house parties to bigger gatherings where we have to cook for hundreds. It gets really sweaty in there during the summer months, but the cooks are used to the heat by now. We spend a lot of time washing vegetables and chopping things by hand. Sometimes the delivery schedule gets tight because of the traffic in 600079, but we usually manage to get there before the guests start looking for plates. We don't do any fancy advertising or anything like that. People just find out about us from their neighbors or relatives who ate our food at someone else's wedding. It is a simple life of buying ingredients at the market early in the morning and cooking until the sun goes down.
