If you've ever walked through the narrow lanes of Parrys in George Town, you know how packed it gets. Mahaa Babu Home Appliances is right there on Anderson Street. It’s a chaotic area but it has a lot of energy. Our shop is filled with all sorts of things for the house. We don't have a lot of walking room because we try to keep as much stock as possible on the floor. People are always pushing past on the street outside, and the sounds of horns and shouting are just part of the background here. We’ve been in George Town for years. The building is old, like most things in this part of Chennai, with high ceilings and thick walls that hold the heat. We don't have a fancy showroom. It’s more of a place where you come to find exactly what you need without the fluff. The staff has been with us for a long time, and we all just pitch in where needed. Some days we are busy moving heavy boxes, other days we are just sitting by the door waiting for the next delivery. Anderson Street is a tough place to park, so we usually tell people to come by walk or on a two-wheeler. We open up early and stay late until the last customer leaves. It’s a honest way to make a living in the heart of the city.
