Maha Driving School

You’ll find Maha Driving School right near the MGR Statue in K. K. Nagar. It’s a very recognizable landmark in Chennai, so we just tell people to look for the statue and they usually find us. Driving in this city is a bit of a nightmare sometimes, as anyone who lives here knows. We spend our days in the passenger seat with a dual-clutch setup, trying to make sure our students don't bump into anything. It takes a lot of patience to do this day in and day out. Our office is small, just enough for some chairs and the paperwork for the licenses. We don't have a fleet of luxury cars; we just use reliable vehicles that can handle the constant stop-and-go of the Chennai streets. The heat inside the cars can get pretty intense, even with the windows down or the AC on low. We’ve seen all kinds of drivers—some who are natural and some who are terrified of the steering wheel. We don't do any flashy advertising or anything. Most of our students come to us because their cousins or neighbors learned here. We just sit in traffic, explain the rules of the road over and over, and try to make sure everyone stays safe. It’s a slow process, but we’ve been doing it long enough that it’s just part of our daily life now. We’re usually here until the sun goes down and the last car is parked.
