Mac Millan Publishing Limited is tucked away at 15/1 Vs Mudali Street in the Saidapet area. Chennai-15 is a busy part of town, and our street is really no different from the rest. It has that specific Chennai energy with lots of bikes, people walking to the market, and the constant smell of coffee in the air. Our building is a bit on the older side, but it holds a lot of history and we like the feel of it. We spend our days surrounded by tall stacks of papers and books. It is not like those modern offices with glass walls and bright lights; we have got heavy wooden desks and shelves that are probably a bit too full of manuscripts. Sometimes the humidity in Chennai makes the edges of the paper curl, but we just deal with it and keep working. It is a pretty simple operation we have going here. We do not have big meetings about vision statements or anything corporate like that. We just focus on the publishing work and making sure everything gets printed the way it should be. People around Saidapet know the building well. It is a bit of a walk from the main road, but it is a good spot for us. We have a small crew, and most of us have been working here for years. We know the tea stall around the corner much better than any buzzwords. It is just honest work in a busy neighborhood.
