M L Driving School

M L Driving School is located at No 121 in Kovur, Chennai. We are right opposite the Kovur E B office in Kumaran Nagar. It is a busy road, which is actually good for people learning to drive because they get used to the traffic pretty quickly. I spend most of my day in the car, shifting gears and watching the mirrors. The office is just a small room where we keep the registration forms and a few plastic chairs for people to sit while they wait their turn. It gets very hot in Chennai, so the fan is always running at full speed, but it mostly just moves the warm air around. We have a couple of old hatchbacks that we use for the lessons. They have a few dents here and there, but that is expected when people are just starting out. I usually have a bottle of cold water tucked under my seat. The neighborhood is okay, and we know the tea shop guy across the street very well. He brings us tea twice a day without us even asking. It is a straightforward job. We show up, we get in the cars, and we go around the same blocks until the sun goes down. There is no fancy technology or simulators here. Just a steering wheel, some pedals, and a lot of patience. It is how we have always done it. Sometimes the rain makes things difficult but we just drive a bit slower and carry on with the schedule.
