M K N Traders is at No.47 on Subedar Hussain Street. We are right in the Royapettah area, not far from the Border Thotam Clock Tower. It’s a very recognizable part of town, which helps people find us. Our place is more of a warehouse than a shop. We have crates and boxes stacked up everywhere, making the aisles pretty narrow. It’s a bit dark inside because the building is old and doesn't have many windows. We deal with a lot of different traders and suppliers throughout the week. It’s a lot of lifting and moving things around, so we’re usually pretty tired by the end of the day. We don't have a fancy office or air conditioning. We just have a small desk near the front where we handle the bills and receipts. The street outside is always crowded with carts and delivery vehicles, so getting things in and out can be a real headache sometimes. We’ve been operating this way for a long time. We aren't interested in making the place look modern or polished. It works for what we do. We just want to get the inventory moved and keep the business running. Most of our customers are other local businesses who have been buying from us for years. We just keep our heads down and do the work. It’s not glamorous, but it is what we know how to do.
