M 2 Architects is based over in Velacheri, specifically at No 3 A/1 on 1st Street. We are tucked away in Sri Sakthi Vijalakshmi Nagar, which is a fairly quiet area considering how busy the rest of Chennai gets. If you are looking for us, 1st Street is the place to be. We spend most of our time here sketching out plans and thinking about how buildings should actually look and work once they are built. Architecture is one of those things where you spend a lot of time on details that most people might not even notice at first. We aren't a huge firm with dozens of people running around; it’s a more personal setup. Most of our days are spent at the drawing board or on the computer, trying to make sense of different spaces. Velacheri has changed so much lately, and being here in the 600042 zip code keeps us right in the middle of all that activity. We handle different types of design work, whatever comes through the door really. Some days are slow with just research, and other days we can't seem to find enough hours to finish everything. We don't have a polished lobby or anything like that. It is just a workspace where we focus on the drawings and the structural stuff. It works for us. If someone wants to talk about a building idea, they usually just give us a call or stop by the office here in Sri Sakthi Vijalakshmi Nagar. We just keep doing our work every day and seeing how the plans turn out.
