We’re located at Number 1 in Perungudi. Lakshmi Hardware & Building Materials is a pretty basic name for what we do. We carry the kind of stuff you need when something breaks at home or when you're starting a small construction job. Being in Perungudi means we see a lot of local builders and people from the neighborhood. Our shop is packed with everything from nails and screws to bags of cement and basic tools. It’s not the most organized place in the world, but we usually know exactly where everything is kept. If you need a specific type of bolt or a certain grade of sand, we probably have it tucked away somewhere. The day starts early here because that’s when the contractors like to pick up their supplies before heading to the site. We spend a lot of time on our feet, measuring out lengths of wire or counting out items for a list. It can get a bit dusty with all the bags of material around, and our hands are rarely clean by the end of the shift. We’ve been at this Perungudi spot for a while and have seen the area grow quite a bit. It’s a simple life running a hardware store. We just try to keep the bins full and make sure we don't run out of the things people use every day.
