Lakshmi Engineering Works

Lakshmi Engineering Works is based out of the Sidco Industrial Estate in Ambattur. We are at plot 111/96, which is right in the middle of all the other factories and workshops. It’s an industrial area, so it’s always loud with the sound of lathes and milling machines. We’ve been doing this for a long time. Mostly we take on jobs from other businesses that need specific parts made or repaired. The shop floor is usually covered in metal shavings and oil, but that’s just how an engineering place looks. We don't spend much time on paperwork or anything like that. If a job comes in, we look at the drawings and get to work. Most of our guys have been with us for years and they know the machines better than anyone. Ambattur is a good place for a shop like ours because everything we need is nearby. We don't really advertise; people just know we’re at the Sidco estate if they need something sturdy built. We work hard from morning till the evening whistle. Sometimes the power goes out, but we just pick up where we left off. It's honest work and we like seeing a finished part come off the machine. We keep things simple here and just focus on getting the measurements right so the parts fit where they’re supposed to go. There’s not much more to tell really, we just keep the machines running every day and try to get things done on time.
