K.V.M. Engineering Works

K.V.M. Engineering Works is located at No:3 Karthik Street. We are just off Thiruvalluvar Main Road in Nehru Nagar. It is a tight little street, and sometimes it’s hard to get a truck in here. We have been here for a long time now. The neighborhood knows us by the sound of the grinders and the saws. We don’t have a big fancy office. My desk is just a small wooden table in the corner of the workshop. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons, so we keep the big shutters open. You can see the street life passing by while we work. It’s mostly just a few of us. We do a lot of repair work and some custom fabrication. It’s messy work. There are metal scraps and tools all over the floor. I try to sweep up at the end of the day, but it never stays clean for long. We don’t have a website or anything like that. People just walk in with a part that needs fixing. We talk about the job, agree on a price, and get to it. Sometimes we have to wait for materials to arrive, which can slow things down. But we try to keep things moving. It’s a local business, through and through. Nothing too complicated about how we run things in this neighborhood.
