You’ll find us at 10A, Haddows Road, right in the heart of Nungambakkam. It’s a very busy and well-known part of Chennai. The street is always lined with cars and people heading to the various shops and offices around here. Our place, Kappa Chakka Kandhari, is where we handle everything related to our food business. The name itself gives away what we are about, focusing on those traditional flavors like tapioca and those tiny, spicy chilies. Inside, it’s often a bit chaotic with the staff running around and the kitchen busy with prep work. We don't have a corporate office feel at all; it’s more like a busy workshop where food is the main focus. We spend a lot of time sourcing the right ingredients because if the jackfruit or the fish isn't right, the whole thing fails. Haddows Road is a nice place to be, even with the constant horn-honking outside. We have a small team, and we all end up doing a bit of everything, from answering phones to checking the stock in the pantry. It’s a lot of work to keep things running in such a fast-paced neighborhood. Sometimes the air conditioning struggles against the Chennai sun, but we make do with what we have. It’s just a group of people who are really into traditional cooking and making it work in the city. We just take it one day at a time and keep the kitchen moving.
