K J S Lotus Foods & Co

Out here on New Agaram Road, the days usually start before the sun is even fully up. K J S Lotus Foods & Co is tucked into Barathi Nagar, right where Chellai Nagar and Selaiyur kind of meet. It’s a bit of a maze back here if you aren't used to these streets. We’ve been at number 2 for a good while now. The building is simple, mostly just space for the food items we handle and a small area where we keep the books. It gets humid in the afternoons, so we usually have the fans running full blast. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in Selaiyur. We just want to make sure the bags are packed right and the orders go out without too many mistakes. Sometimes the delivery truck gets stuck in the narrow lane, and we all have to go out and help the driver navigate. It’s just part of the job. We have some tea, talk about the news, and then get back to moving the stock. It’s honest work, and it keeps us tired but satisfied at the end of the day. The locals know us as the place near the old landmark, and we like it that way. No big speeches or fancy uniforms here, just people working with food and trying to get home to their families on time.
