Jrj Driving School

I’ve been working at Jrj Driving School in West Mambalam for a while now. Our office is at number 25 on Arya Gowda Road, right near the Ayothiya Mandapam. If you know Chennai, you know how busy this road can get. It is a real test for anyone learning to drive. I spend my days either behind a desk handling the paperwork or out on the streets helping people figure out how to use a clutch without stalling. West Mambalam is a crowded neighborhood with narrow lanes and lots of pedestrians, so it is the perfect place to learn how to be a careful driver. The office itself is small and simple, with some chairs for students and a lot of logbooks. It is usually quite noisy outside because of the traffic and the people visiting the Mandapam. We have been in this spot for years, and most of the locals recognize our cars when they see them crawling down the street. It is a very local business. We don't have a big corporate team, just a few of us who know the roads well. Sometimes we have to deal with the rain or the heavy Chennai heat, but the lessons go on regardless. It is rewarding in a quiet way when someone finally gets their license. We just take it one student at a time, teaching the basics and hoping they stay safe on the roads. It is a very regular, honest way to spend the day.
