Our place, Jayam Crane Services, is at Plot No. 481/3D in Balaji Nagar, Ambattur. If you know Chennai, you know Ambattur is a major hub for all kinds of industrial work. We are right in the middle of it. Our plot is where we keep our cranes when they are not out on a job. It is a dusty yard, but it is home to us. We have been in Balaji Nagar for several years now. The day starts with checking the oil and the cables on the cranes before they head out to different parts of the city. Ambattur has some narrow lanes, so driving these big machines out in the morning takes a lot of patience. Our office is just a small shack on the edge of the plot. We use it to store our helmets and the heavy chains we use for lifting. It is not a place for meetings; we usually just talk to people outside in the yard. The sun gets really hot here, so we spend a lot of time under the shade of the machines when we can. We are just regular people who know how to operate heavy machinery. We don't have a mission statement or a fancy website. We just have our cranes and our reputation in the neighborhood. When someone needs something moved, they know where to find us in Balaji Nagar.
